We've had corn grow 12.1' tall in our research gardens, in soil that was amended with our compost. Plant performance is what we're striving for, plants that are healthy, disease resistant, that don't attract insects, that produce delicious and nutritious food.
Pictured to the left is some of our research growing, July, 2006. Near Left, in the blue Barrel, Eggplant, Imperial Black Beauty, Solanum melongena. Behind the Eggplant is Cucumber, Mideast Prolific, Cucumis sativus In the middle, in the white barrel is Zucchini, Cocozelle Bush, Cucurita pepo. The above seeds were Certified Organic, from Seeds of Change. On the right are tomato plants, and the young plants were bought locally from a garden center, most likely not certified organic.
We expect to massively expand our Research growing, because demand for finished compost is totally dependant upon how well plants thrive in the finished product.
