Top Dressing existing turf / grass areas with ½ - 1" of Magic Soil has a track record
of spectacular results.Why does Magic Soil produce such great results?  It may be
the combination of providing the organic matter and the diverse micro-organisms
which provide for soil nutrient cycling and other soil micro-organisms which are
antagonistic to plant diseases and pests.   We know that Dactylaria, Arthopotrys, a
friendly fungus, is a natural way of controling root feeding nematodes.  Many golf
course superintendents are finding that when they top dress with high quality
composts that they can massively reduce the use of toxic turf chemicals.

Figuring out how much Magic Soil you will need:

Start by measuring the area you want to top dress in Square Feet.   Often this involves a bit of guestimating.  Decide how thick a top dressing you want to do. The left column of
the chart below is the thickness of the application in decimal inches.  "0.50" = ½";
"1.50" = 1½".   Find the area that you want to top dress on the top line of the chart.  
Where the line and column intersect you find the quantity of Magic Soil that you
will need in cubic yards.  Round up to the next whole cubic yard, and you may
want to add some for other projects that you hadn't thought about until now.
